La Canopée - now L'Appel des Bois - opened in 2023 to offer a school close to the Anglo-Saxon Forest School concept: learning in the heart of the forest, to forge a sensitive link with nature. As the project progressed, it became clear that Bernard Collot's vision of a "school of the 3rd kind" was the perfect complement.
Today, we're about to enter our second year, with enrolment doubling from 9 to 18 children.
Our school is located in a rural area, where the cost of enrolment remains a problem, given the desire and enthusiasm of families for our structure. To meet this challenge, we are constantly seeking solutions to ensure that the economic situation does not act as a brake on offering all children an alternative learning environment.
