The aim of the fundraising campaign is to cover the expenses required to get the project up and running in September 2025 and during the first year of operation (school year 2025-2026), namely :

  • equipment and fitting-out of premises: approximately €20,000 (furniture, computer and scientific equipment, fitting-out of courtyard, kitchen, fitting-out of rooms)
  • work to bring the premises up to ERP 5 standards: around €80,000 according to our architect's estimate.
  • working capital requirement for the first year of operation (full educational team for a small number of pupils): around €30,000

5 years after the launch of the Forêt des Lucioles elementary school, the association La Forêt des Lucioles has committed itself to the creation of the Collège ESPERO ("hope" in Esperanto), which will continue to support the children attending the school, and will welcome others.
The college will, of course, follow the French Education Nationale curriculum, and at the same time offer students and families 3 key pedagogical axes:

  • encourage students' self-confidence and creativity at all times
  • encourage cooperation and conflict resolution skills
  • allow students to connect with nature on a very regular basis.

  • Association la Forêt des Lucioles

The association La Forêt des Lucioles was created in 2019 to manage the elementary school of the same name. The associative format was chosen because it corresponded to our intention, as founders, that this school should be a civic project, which places the value of solidarity at its heart. Scholarships are offered to the poorest 20% of families. The association's team unanimously decided to go ahead with the creation of this college.
