L'école parentale Semer et Grandir is a parent-run, independent, non-contract school. Our mission is to provide an accessible educational alternative for low-income families, who are often excluded from expensive private schools.
Operating solely thanks to volunteer parents, we offer a learning environment based on respect for each child's rhythm, intergenerational interaction, a diversified pedagogy, and privileged access to nature.
Actions to be financed
Our school will open its doors in September 2024, thanks to the support of the Mairie de Millac, which is making premises available to us. To ensure that this opening takes place under the best possible conditions, we need funding.
Donations will be used to fund :
- Fitting out the premises
At present, the premises made available to the school are empty. We need to invest in suitable furniture, such as a flexible classroom (tables, chairs, stools, shelves, a relaxation area, etc.). In order to reduce our environmental impact, we would like to change the radiators on the premises. - The installation of an additional space
Our premises have 3 rooms for children aged 3 to 16. We would like to be able to offer a specific space for kindergarten children, so that they can learn and experiment without disturbing the older children, who won't have the same work rhythm. There are already spaces for yurts on our premises, so we could easily set one up. - Outdoor facilities
We'll be creating spaces for outdoor play and learning. This includes the purchase of play equipment, the creation of a vegetable garden, the installation of a structure such as an arbour for shelter (rain, sun), a shed for storing belongings, the creation of a corner in the forest, etc. - Teaching supplies and educational materials
In order to create a resource-rich space conducive to student development, we would like to invest in computer equipment (computer, printer...), scientific observation and experimentation equipment, Montessori-type materials...
Your financial support will enable Semer et Grandir to bring its projects to fruition and offer quality instruction that respects the rhythms of each individual, while fostering links with nature, self-awareness and intergenerational exchanges. Help us to create an inclusive and supportive school.
