THE LITTLE BEAVERS BUILD THE FUTURE

Extension of a bilingual Montessori school

Les petits castors, a bilingual Montessori kindergarten and elementary school located at the crossroads of Savoie, Haute-Savoie and Ain, in a Zone Artisanale on the banks of the Rhône, is looking to consolidate its structure and facilities to keep pace with the school's development.

The project

A "one-room school" based on the values of cooperation and respect, where students learn to communicate, manage their emotions, develop empathy- in a word, to become responsible citizens who play an active role in their own lives.

Montessori education for all

The school is managed by an association in order to limit costs and is participative so that parents support the teaching team according to their availability and skills: maintenance, administration, accompaniment...

A fee schedule adapts tuition to family income. According to the school's philosophy, tuition fees should not be an obstacle for a family motivated by Montessori education!

The objectives

  • A Montessori education that fosters the development of each individual's potential
  • Eco-responsibility by raising children's awareness of nature and ecology
  • Learning a second language from grades 3-6
  • Exchanges with schools and other Montessori professionals, but not only! to provide the best possible support for each child.

Structure information

The Éveil et Veille association was born around the idea of creating a Montessori school at the crossroads between Savoie, Haute Savoie and Ain. After several meetings, research and plans on the comet, in March 2017, the foundations of the Les Petits Castors Montessori school project were put down on paper by founders Blandine Beloeil and Claire Argouin. In June, a site in the south island area of Seyssel is finally selected. In November, renovation work begins and the school opens its doors on January 8, 2018!

The school is a secular, private, non-contractual organization managed by the Éveil et Veille association, in coordination with the teaching team. It operates thanks to school fees paid by parents, memberships and donations.

The school began with the establishment of an atmosphere for 3-6 year olds in January 2018, then expands with the creation of a 6-9 year old atmosphere in September 2020.

In 2023, the school will evolve towards a 6-12 years atmosphere, welcoming children from the age of 2 and a half.
