URGENT
New release from the school (dated 6/11/2025):
The Arrosoir school continues its fight against the iniquitous closure order.
In the first instance, the interim relief judge recognized the merits of L'Arrosoir's appeal: he acknowledged the lack of adversarial proceedings and decided to suspend the administrative decision concerning the maternal section.
This is therefore a half-victory for the school, but only a partial one: from an economic point of view, the closure of the elementary school jeopardizes its financial equilibrium. In addition, the school strongly contests the argumentation of the decision concerning cycles 2 and 3, the administration having in no way proved that pupils were prevented from progressively acquiring the socle commun, which is nonetheless the reason for their request for closure. Their assertion is resoundingly contradicted by the excellent school reports of former pupils from their very first semester in a public school.
This iniquitous decision to close the school, which blatantly infringes parents' freedom of educational choice, will therefore be challenged by l'Arrosoir: the school is appealing to the Conseil d'Etat against the ruling.
Thank you for your invaluable support!
School press release (dated 30/10/2025):
"Since September 11, the Arrosoir school in Ucel, Ardèche, has been the recipient of a closure project requested by the prefect.
Our team presented its observations to the prefecture on October 17. It was accompanied by its lawyer Maître Brengarth and Lucie Iskandar, a member of the Waldorf Steiner federation. A solid argument was presented, demonstrating all the measures seriously implemented by the school to meet the requirements of the Education Nationale.
Report cards were also provided for students who had transferred to other schools.
Our former students have all achieved excellent results, right from the start!
Despite this, only a few days later, on October 22, a prefectoral order for immediate and definitive closure was handed to the director by the national gendarmerie.
Faced with this situation, we can't defend ourselves alone!
We are therefore reiterating our appeal for donations to finance our defense and survival!
We're on the ground, but we can't move mountains and maintain the right to educational freedom without you!
We're asking for your help.
The kindergarten's current yurt was bought second-hand eight years ago. It is starting to show signs of wear and tear, particularly during bad weather. It's high time we provided a warm, healthy roof for the kindergarten's little ones (2 ½ to 6 years old)! This campaign will enable us to finance the purchase, assembly and fitting out of a new yurt!
